Day 5 of shooting
We arrived at Leigh-on-sea at 11:00. We were all enthusiastic about our filming day manly because of the ideas we had to offer and the fact that we wasn't really familiar to this neighbourhood. We planned to shoot a few scenes by the sea, establishing shots of our chosen location, cobbled street and a few additional shots just for any emergencies. When we arrived at our destination, the first thing which caught our eyes was a sort of hill with houses at the top of it. The hill gave an illusion of being up in the sky and also it provided a really stable establishing shot. We filmed a few shots of this and then we went on our way to find our next destination: A cobbled street. When we found this, we immediately filmed a few long shots of our actress walking on the cobbled street while lip syncing. we had a few disturbences of pedestrians getting into the shot and occasionally parking their car in our frame shot. In the end we filmed a decent footage. Luckily the cobbled street was right next to the sea however when we got to the sea the tide hadn't risen yet so we filmed a few scenes of me running on the sand, picking up the sand, sitting on the sand. We really thought about different angles because we got varied shots of these.
Overall, we filmed everything we planned to do and we even got in some additional shots. The weather was nice and not too cold and this made filming much easier because we were not affected by the cold weather.

Shooting: 11/12/10
The start to our shoot could be summed up in one word: Nightmare.
We went to shoot the scenes at Leigh-on-Sea. We planned to meet at West Ham Station for 10am to get to Leigh-on-Sea for around 11am. We all met up as planned and got on the train. We were about 10 minutes away from Leigh-on-Sea so we decided to get ourselves ready by putting the tape in the camera. However the camera kept displaying an error message saying: REMOVE THE CASSETTE. This was unusual as we had never seen this message before, when we removed the tape to our horror we found the camera had chewed our tape. We had some spare tapes and hoped that it was a problem with the tape but we put in another tape only to have the camera chew that one too.
Luckily I had my FlipVideo camera on me which we were forced to use to film our footage. This wasn't ideal but it was better than going all that way only to have to come back with no footage. As we were at the seaside we checked the tide clocks the day before to see when the tide would be coming in. The tide was very far out when we got there so we planned to film scenes on the cobbled streets around the village whilst we waited for the tide to come in. Thankfully, the rest of the shoot ran smoothly.

Experimenting with Photoshop - Magazine Advert 1
This is the magazine cover which I created on the day of the photoshop workshop. This is the practice version I created. This image was taken in our media classroom on Tuesday but using photoshop I blurred the background and brightened the artist to make her stand out. I chose to do the artist name in this font and design as I got the idea from my magazine research. The magazine cover that had Hawksley Workman at the front had the layout like this and therefore I got the idea from this and decided to try it on this cover.
Experimenting photoshop- Advert 3
In this lesson, we experimented with photoshop in order to get some practise when doing our digipak and magazine advert. Even though it's not finished and is a working progress i think it taught me how to use lighting, layout, and colour to create an effect image
Weather and Tide time
We have decided to film on this coming saturday. We will be going to Leigh-On-Sea to film our remaining footage. As we will be filming by the sea, it is important to be sure of any weather conditons.

Experimenting with Photoshop - Magazine Advert 2
Today we had a magazine designer come in to teach us the basics in how to use Photoshop. The image above is the advert that I began making in the workshop. We looked at the typical things you'd find in a magazine advert during research from a previous lesson. Although, the advert isn't finished it does include the main things you'd expect to find on a magazine advert for example the name of the artist, the album release date and where the consumer could buy the album.
